The Tropics

Living in a tropical country like the Philippines has it's perks.

For one thing, I can get a tan from soaking some sun at the comfort of my own home. No beach/tanning bed necessary.

But one of the disadvantages of this season though, is that it's warm and sunny one moment and guns blazing raining the next. That is why, I always dress for two different weather conditions.

I wore this black crop top with white leopard print pocket shorts for the summer feel. I paired it up with sunnies and my favorite black booties for the laid back and cool climate vibe.

 Top: DIY black tee
Shorts: bazaar
Shoes: B Club, old here

So, how are you guys dressing up for the summer?

  1. Nice top!! :D

    xx, Edda

  2. like your shoes..

  3. I love your top and shoes! You look stunning!

  4. i love your booties!! :)

  5. Lady, I'm into muumuus and dashikis this summer. Big time!

  6. True, little perks from tropical countries.. I used to get a nice simple tan too from just staying home in Brazil. Not anymore haha
    Like your booties!

  7. I love boots paired with shorts - you wear it well! Your hair looks gorgeous too!

  8. It's still way to cold here to even think of shorts outside. I would even prefer unpredictable weather like yours over our freezing one :p Love the boots! Maya - Archistas

  9. Ah, the tropics. Love the look, and you wear it well. When summer comes, I will be wearing summer dresses with cute sandals, every single day.

  10. I Love Your Sunglasses ! Where did you buy them ? I was hoping if you would like to follow each other on Google Friend Connect and other social sites.- Chic Out of Town Blog

  11. I love this whole outfit, great detail in putting this outfit together, right down to the bracelets. I REALLY WANT YOUR SHOES!!!

@Sabrina: Yes, the perks are awesome! Migrating has their ups and downs, but at least you get to check out new trends in your new home. :)
@Julie: Thank you dear! And my hair thanks you as well! :*
@Maya: I agree! But I wish I could experience snow even for a week though. :P
@Virginia: Thank you Virginia! I love those summer fashion picks, cant wait to see them on your blog :*
@Chic Out of Town: I got these at Forever 21. I would love to follow you back. :*
@Stacey: Thank you so much for the lovely comment dear! :* Glad to find someone as fanatic about these shoes as me! :D

  13. I love the shorts! I'm a sucker for anything with leopard print!

  14. Hello Mich! Found you on IFB and I'm so glad to have met another Filipina there. :)
    Following you now via GFC!

    xx, Mela

    1. Thank you so much, Mela! Glad to have another pinay on board! Will be following your blog as well :D

  15. Martine from Makati - Love the outfit, nice booties! But I don't like the shoes from B Club. Inferior quality. My 1st pair of knee high boots was from that brand. The fake leather [it's not even "leather"] cracked & peeled. I'm not buying shoes made from PU [polyurethane] again.

    1. Nice to see you here, Martine! I am sad to hear about the shoes you purchased from them. :( Mine seems to be holding on pretty well, I have had these for over a year now and they still look great! I hope you find a wonderful pair of sturdy boots soon! :D

2nd BDJ Women's Summit {Giveaway Closed}

Hello darlings! Welcome back to the blog. Today, I'll be showing you what transpired last weekend at the 2nd BDJ Women's Summit. This charitable event was not only inspirational, but it also paved a way for people to get in touch with causes that benefit the women and children of the Philippines. These partner organizations include: Ahon sa Hirap Inc., Angat Buhay, ECPAT PH, Kinamot Nga Buhat, Grace to be Born, Elsie Gaches, Miss Possibilities Foundation, Fairplay for All Foundation, Girls Got Game PH, Plush and Play, as well as Jacinto and Lirio.

I took my friend with me to the Summit Talks and we thoroughly enjoyed their stories. Among the amazing line up of speakers, my absolute favorite ones were about BDJ founder, Darlyn Ty's beginnings and OFW turned Businesswoman, Rebecca Bustamante-Mills success story. It just goes to show that anybody can make it big with small beginnings.

Unboxing the BDJ Elite Box 2017 : Colour Collection

Hello my darlings! Today, we will be unboxing my first BDJ Elite Box. I have been curious about these boxes for a while now, so I jumped in excitement when the team from BDJ sent me this care package. :)

You can get all of these items from Colour Collection, which retails for more than 4,000 all together, for only Php 1480 at I highly suggest this for any beginner makeup artist since you can grow your kit with these essential makeup items.

The All Day Wear Lengthening Mascara (P399) and Brow Mascara (P399) are the perfect duo in creating that sleek eye makeup look. The brow mascara is very pigmented so swipe conservatively. :)

The 14HR Liquid Eye Liner Pen (P369) is very sharp and pigmented. I wore this to work the other day and it was very jet black - I love it! :)

This Eye Shadow Trio Palette (P399) is the bomb! It's matte but not too pigmented, so it's very forgiving for first time users. I am totally into Dove Cameron's makeup look and I found that…
